Travel first to Aït Ben Haddou, the UNESCO-listed fortified ksar and one of southern Morocco’s finest examples of traditional earthen architecture. Cross into the old settlement and explore its narrow passageways, fortified houses and towers before walking toward the upper viewpoint for panoramic views across the surrounding valley.

Continue to Fint Oasis, where green palms and cultivated gardens appear unexpectedly among the rocky, arid landscapes outside Ouarzazate. Take time for a gentle walk through the oasis and its traditional villages, experiencing a quieter side of life in southern Morocco.

In the afternoon, continue east toward Skoura Oasis, famous for its extensive palm groves, gardens and historic kasbahs. Explore the palmeraie and visit one of the area’s traditional kasbahs before arriving at your accommodation.

After breakfast, leave Skoura and travel deeper into the valleys between the High Atlas and the southern desert landscapes.

Continue through Kelaat M’Gouna and the Valley of Roses, a beautiful region of cultivated fields, traditional villages and rose-growing communities. During the spring flowering season the valley is particularly colorful, while its mountain scenery and village landscapes remain rewarding throughout the year.

Rather than staying only on the main road, continue toward Boutghrar, where the scenery becomes quieter and more remote. Travel between red-earth villages, rocky valleys and traditional Amazigh communities surrounded by striking mountain landscapes.

Take time for a short guided village or valley walk, adapted to the season and your preferred level of activity. When arranged, there may also be an opportunity to share tea with a local family and gain a more personal glimpse into everyday life in the valley.

Stop at the famous winding-road viewpoint and other panoramic locations before enjoying a short guided walk through the Dades Valley. Exploring on foot gives you a closer look at the gardens, agricultural terraces, rock formations and traditional village life that are easily missed when simply driving through.

Depending on local conditions and your interests, continue to some of the valley’s distinctive geological formations before stopping for lunch.

In the afternoon, begin the scenic return toward Ouarzazate, with additional stops along the route rather than treating the journey back simply as a transfer.
