Beyond the Classic Morocco Route

This ten-day private Morocco adventure is designed for travelers who want to experience more than the usual route. It combines spectacular drives with time on foot, local encounters and slower stays in southern Morocco.

Cross the High Atlas to Skoura and the Dades Valley, hike through the Monkey Fingers landscape, then continue into the rugged Jbel Saghro region and the kasbah-filled oasis town of Nkob.

Follow the Draa Valley back toward the High Atlas before slowing down around Lalla Takerkoust, the Kik Plateau and a final luxury desert camp experience in Agafay.

Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Skoura

Overnight · Skoura

Depart Marrakech and cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying panoramic mountain views and traditional Berber villages along the route.

Continue toward Aït Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages. Explore the ancient ksar, walk through its traditional earthen streets and enjoy panoramic views from the top.

Continue through Ouarzazate toward the beautiful Skoura Oasis, surrounded by palm groves and historic mud-brick kasbahs.

Continue to the Dades Valley, where dramatic cliffs, colourful rock formations and green oasis landscapes create one of southern Morocco’s most distinctive regions.

Today is dedicated to discovering the Dades Valley on foot. Meet your local mountain guide and begin a scenic hike through the Dades Gorge and Monkey Fingers area.

Walk through palm groves, gardens, traditional Berber villages and spectacular rock formations. The famous Monkey Fingers landscape offers beautiful views across the surrounding mountains and valley.

Enjoy an authentic local Berber family experience with traditional hospitality and a homemade Moroccan lunch in a family setting.

Continue exploring the valley and enjoy panoramic viewpoints over the dramatic Dades landscape before returning to your accommodation.

Arrive in Nkob, a peaceful oasis town famous for its numerous traditional kasbahs, palm groves and beautiful mountain surroundings.

Spend the afternoon discovering the oasis and walking through the traditional kasbahs of Nkob.

The hike can be adapted to your preferred level, making it suitable for travelers looking for a moderate walking experience rather than a multi-day mountain trek.

After the hike, return to Nkob for a relaxing afternoon and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this authentic southern Moroccan oasis.
