This 5-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour brings together the Middle Atlas Mountains, the Erg Chebbi dunes and the landscapes of southern Morocco in one private journey.
Travel through Ifrane, the cedar forest near Azrou and the palm-filled Ziz Valley. Spend your first Merzouga night in a hotel or riad, then discover Rissani and Khamlia before a sunset camel ride to your luxury Sahara camp.
Continue through Todgha Gorges and enjoy two nights in Boumalne Dadès, with a full day for a guided valley hike and homemade lunch with a local family. Your journey then follows the Valley of Roses toward Aït Ben Haddou before crossing the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech.

DAY 1
Fes → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Midelt → Ziz Valley → Merzouga
Overnight · Merzouga Hotel or RiadYour private driver will collect you from your accommodation in Fes in the early morning. Begin your Fes to Marrakech desert tour through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane to enjoy its distinctive architecture and mountain atmosphere.
Continue to the cedar forest near Azrou, where you may see wild Barbary macaques among the trees. Travel through mountain villages toward Midelt, with a break for lunch along the way.
In the afternoon, follow the road south toward the Ziz Valley. Stop to admire panoramic views over palm groves and traditional earthen villages before continuing through Erfoud to Merzouga.
Arrive at your hotel or riad beside the Erg Chebbi dunes. Settle in and enjoy a peaceful evening before the following day’s Sahara adventure.

DAY 2

Visit Rissani, a historic trading town at the edge of the Sahara. Discover its traditional streets and, on market days, explore the lively souk where local people trade regional produce and everyday goods.
Continue to Khamlia for a Gnawa music experience and an introduction to the village’s musical traditions. Return to Merzouga for lunch and time to relax before heading into the dunes.
In the late afternoon, begin your sunset camel ride across Erg Chebbi. Pause among the dunes to watch the sunset, then continue to your luxury Sahara camp.
Settle into your private tent before enjoying a Moroccan dinner. Afterwards, enjoy traditional music around the campfire, weather permitting, and an evening beneath the desert stars.

Leave Merzouga and travel through Erfoud and Tinjdad toward Tinghir. Watch the scenery change from open desert to oasis landscapes, with stops along the way for photographs and refreshments.
Continue through the Todgha Valley, where palm groves and traditional villages sit beneath rugged mountains. At Todgha Gorges, take a walk between the towering rock walls and enjoy the impressive natural setting.
After a lunch break, continue to Boumalne Dadès and enter the beautiful Dadès Valley. Check into your accommodation for two nights, allowing a full day to explore the valley the following morning.

Following a lunch break, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Enjoy panoramic mountain scenery, with opportunities to stop for photographs along the way.
Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening. Your driver will drop you at your accommodation, marking the end of your private five-day journey from Fes.
