After breakfast, your journey continues towards the magnificent Sahara Desert. Leaving the dramatic cliffs of the Dades Valley behind, you travel through a series of authentic Berber villages, palm groves and ever-changing desert landscapes that reveal the true beauty of southern Morocco.
Your first stop is the peaceful village of Touroug, where you can discover everyday Berber life and, with permission from the local people, capture memorable portraits that reflect the warmth and hospitality of the region.
Continue to explore one of Morocco’s fascinating underground irrigation systems, known as the Khatarat (Khettara). These ancient water channels have supplied oasis villages for centuries and remain one of the country’s most remarkable engineering achievements.
Arriving in Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops and desert culture, enjoy a traditional Berber pizza for lunch before continuing towards the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Explore the vibrant traditional souks where merchants continue centuries-old trading traditions. Wander through colourful spice stalls, artisan workshops and the famous donkey parking area, a unique feature that reflects everyday life in southern Morocco. If your visit coincides with market day, you’ll also experience the lively livestock market where local families gather from surrounding villages.
Before leaving Rissani, enjoy an authentic Berber pizza or a freshly prepared barbecue using ingredients purchased directly from the local market. Accompanied by traditional Moroccan mint tea, this delicious lunch offers another genuine cultural experience.
Continue west through the breathtaking Draa Valley, famous for its endless palm groves, fortified villages and ancient kasbahs. This remarkable route is often called the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs, where every bend reveals spectacular desert scenery and impressive mud-brick architecture.

After breakfast, we leave the peaceful oasis of Agdz and travel north through the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco. Our first stop is the beautiful Cascade Tizgui, a hidden waterfall surrounded by dramatic cliffs that offers a refreshing break before continuing the journey.
We continue to the famous city of Ouarzazate, often called the Gateway to the Sahara. Known for its impressive kasbahs and world-famous film studios, the city has appeared in numerous international productions including Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Game of Thrones.
After lunch, the journey continues through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, enjoy panoramic viewpoints, traditional Berber villages and spectacular mountain scenery as we cross one of Morocco’s most beautiful roads back towards Marrakech.
During the afternoon we descend into the plains surrounding the Red City, arriving in Marrakech where you’ll check back into your elegant riad. The remainder of the evening is yours to relax or enjoy the lively atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna Square.

Is the camel ride included?
Yes. Your sunset camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes is included. Guests who prefer not to ride a camel can travel to the camp by 4×4 vehicle.
Is the Dades Gorge hike difficult?
The hike is suitable for most travelers with a normal level of fitness. Comfortable walking shoes and a hat are recommended.
